There's no place like 'OME

‘OME means different things to many different people, and we’re excited to share our ‘OME with you.

By coming for a visit, you are contributing to a larger community initiative. ‘OME is a not-for-profit social enterprise with the goal of creating a sustainable micro-economy through tourism in an area of Newfoundland and Labrador rich in history, culture and natural beauty.  With outports in decline, many people are turning their back on rural Newfoundland. We want to change that. We want to rewrite the rural story.

Every penny you spend while at ‘OME will be reinvested back into the towns of Burlington, Middle Arm and Smiths Harbour to provide employment, economic stimulus and to ensure the continued growth of this incredibly special corner of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Not only are you embarking on a rich and rewarding travel experience, you can rest easy knowing your visit had a postive impact on local people’s lives.

Let’s rewrite the rural story together.

Welcome ‘Ome!

We hiked to the top of the Mountain , swam the brook and chatted with some lovely people. The 3 little communities of Burlington, Smith's Harbour and Middle Arm are very special indeed.
